The banning of Tomahawks!

Should Tomahawks be banned??
The NTHA seems to think so. But what would be the advantages and disadvantages of banning this hit in junior hockey??
Tomahawks in Darwin have recently been banned in junior hockey due to a lot of injuries that could of been prevented. Such as people being hit in the face, etc.
Though this may sound fine, there is also a major disadvantage of banning this.
One of those disadvantages is that when we go into state Tomahawks aren't band anywhere else, a conclusion that a lot of people think should happen is that the coaches should be teaching kids how to do Tomahawks saftly.

What it takes to be an Australian Hockey Player!

hi guys,

yeah it would be pretty awesome to play hockey for Australia!

But it doesn't come easy!

Training is a requirement! The team trains 3-4 times a week, with a game on the weekend. Training sessions are generally 1-2 hours in long, the intensity of the sessions reduce closser to the weekend, due to competitions! Some trainings include; Cross training sessions such as resistance training, flexibility, speed and endurance.
Hockey is not a professional sport, that means that most of these players also have a full time job! Being this busy, sometimes you forget to do things, such as eating! Though it is very important for an elite athlete to eat proper nutritional food!

Most of this might sound pretty bad, though to have the privilage to represent your country, to walk out onto the field with the great green and gold uniform, reminds you of how special this really is!

Umpires :)

Umpires are very important in the game of hockey!
They run the game and make sure that all fouls are picked up.
When the game gets out of control the umpire is there to get it back on track!
Did you know International Umpires get paid more money than an Australian Hockey player!

heyy..

Today im going to training!

We will be working on dribling the ball which is one of the most important skills in hockey.

What is dribling? Dribling is how you carry the ball while you run, in this case keeping your ball to your stick and running! As you go up in the levels and experience as a player you'll learn how to indian drible. This consists of running with the ball, but moving your stick around the ball to get more controll!

heyyy,

here is an awesome poster I made in photo shop.

In this photo are some of my favourite players,

sticks and other accesories!

My stick!

heyy guyss!!
I got a new stick a couple of weeks ago! Its sooo kool!!
GRAYS O-TECH BLK!!
some info onn my hockey stick!!:
*colour: Black, fluro orange n silver!
*height: 36.5, I think!! ;)
Player Benefits when using a O-Tech!:
1. O-Tech increases the player's ability to move the stick in all directions quicker than
conventional sticks.
2. O-Tech works with players to increase their "hand speed" when dribbling - Something all top coaches are trying to encourage amongst players.
3. O-Tech can help players to increase their "swing speed" and deliver more dynamic consistency when hitting the ball.
4. O-Tech finely tuned balance points are positioned to help both "feel" and "swing momentum".
